Current mood: disappointed

So guess who just called me...
Last thursday I went into the hospital to see about getting paper work done for the appointment I had to get circumsized on friday, so as to avoid having to fill crap out before going to get chopped. As it turns out they had no record of me and could not even tell me what was going on at the main office of patient affairs and then kept me running around from about 1:45 till about 5pm so I could not get a hold of the urology department that day. So I called and left a message with my doctor's office on thursday about it and just decided to show up on friday since I knew that the doctor would be in the day surgery on friday in any case... see earlier entry about that crap...

So today at about 11:30 I get a call from the hospital asking what it was that I was calling about. Somehow this does not inspire loads of confidence in their clerical staff. Spoke briefly to the lady who is filling in for my doctor's old secretary and apparently the previous lady left without much notice or really all that much assistance on what was going on. So the better part of a week later I hear back from them well after I've already had my kibbles and bits pruned.

On a side note, less than happy things happened on sunday had some bleeding while wrapped in a towel and the looking down at the floor with my blood on it freaked me right out. Since then no real bleeding to speak of and I think a large part of why it bled was because I spent too much time sitting at the computer in one go. Anyways, less than amused about the timing on them getting back to me... I know its only a minor surgery but come on, its an important area to me!

Only if by some chance you can make it out of something that is 100% non-itchy and very washable because still have polysporine and tiny bits of bleeding happening... so yeah...

I was thinking, if this does not stop, what are the chances that somebody who actually knows what the hell to do about it is going to be at the hospital emerg.

A friend of mine's Dad went into the hospital to see about some bleeding/disgustingness to do with a surgical wound about a week after and the resident that saw him opened up the stitches basically condemming him to having the wound packed with gauze every day for 2 weeks and giving a much larger scar... so I was more than a little freaked out about the timing...

Still, now that you're converting, it's not like you've got anything else to do on a Sunday any more ;)

That's Christians, isn't it? It's Saturdays that're the day of do-no-work for [info]bryghtboy, isn't it? Or possibly I am mixing my religious rules.

You are 100% correct, its saturday that Jews... err we I guess almost at this point... are restricted from doing certain kinds of work. As one of the rabbis who is converting us said, you are perfectly allowed to carry cinderblocks up 3 flights of stairs within your house but not carrying your house keys to synagogue according to those rules... so from this I got the idea that maybe they should be seen as more general guidelines at times :P

I remember because it is a rule that has caused me problems. XD There was a very, very Jewish family staying in the hotel, and they wanted to leave their children in the playcentre in the evening. This was problematic because a release form needs to be signed, and of course, they couldn't sign it. x_x Nobody was willing to comprimise on that, so I ended up with two illegal Jewish children, and had anything happened to them there would have been huge problems, cuz of course they ended up with no parentally signed release form.

Well that's kind of what I meant...now that Brian's converting to Judaism, suddenly his sundays are freed-up.

That would also imply that he was converting from something, other than a vaguely christian (probably protestant) upbringing.

Zoroastrianism. I've always known of Brian's dark secret.

And of his concealed Persian heritage.

I like a good fire just as much as the next guy... assuming the next guy enjoys towering infernos fed by rage and diesel fuel :P

Somehow worshiping fire as part of my religious practices would suck some of the fun out of it though.
